Description
German car component supplier Bosch announced the dismissal of 120 employees at the Braga factory. The job cuts will affect temporary workers, who joined Bosh in 2011. In a press release the company stated that the dismissals are due to the fluctuations in demand for car parts.
The workers' union SITE Norte - Sindicato das Industrias Transformadoras do Norte - have opposed the collective dismissals and stated that the procedure goes against the current employment law. According to the union, the company has introduced a long work shift, which runs from Monday to Wednesday between 11pm and 6am, and Saturday and Sunday between 6am and 5.30pm.
