Description

AR Industrie Alimentari (AR), one of Italian leaders in the food market, is to close its plants in Sant'Antonio Abate, in the province of Naples, with the consequent loss of 250 jobs.

The Sant'Antonio Abate plants are specialized in the transformation of tomatoes and production of plum peeled, chopped and concentrated tomatoes. Production should be relocated to the company's plants in Foggia.

The trade unions have asked the involvement of local authorities in order to avoid the closure of the plants.
