Description
BBC has announced plans to cut 140 jobs in 2013. The restructuring is part of the cost-saving Delivering Quality First Scheme aiming to approximately 500 job cuts. As reported the job reduction measure will affect mainly Radio 4, BBC2's Newsnight and BBC News Channel.
Updated, 16/05/2012: In addition to the above announcement, 130 jobs will be cut from the BBC local radio stations instead of the 280 originally planned. The company tries to implement the job cuts through voluntary means wherever possible.
