On 6 February 2012 Valid Technologies has announced the liquidation of its unit in Komárom and the dismissal of 140 employees. According to the notifications given out by the labour office around 80-90 employees are Slovakian.
Valid Technologies provides manufacturing, assembly, quality control and logistics services to companies with electronics and automotive activities, for example to Nokia which is just closing its unit in Komárom (FS19875). In addition to its activities in Hungary, the company is also present in Romania: in Sfântu Gheorghe with cable manufacturing and in Târgu Secuiesc with the manufacturing of electrical components mainly for the German market.
