Description
The management of a German automotive supplier Bosch decided to transform its plant in Vénissieux, France into a solar panel equipment production site. Bosch's investment in the production of solar panels will save jobs threatened by the decision to cease the production of pumps for gas oil motors in the plant. After negotiation with social partners, the management decided to transform the plant, saving 200 jobs within the site. Still, at least 70 jobs will be cut in 2012 - mostly by retirement or voluntary departures.
In the future, the management wants to merge the site with a second one, also located in Vénissieux, Bosch Rexroth, currently employing 400 workers. Bosch plans to employ about 1000 in the future.
