Description
Irish clothing retailer Primark - a subsidiary of Associated British Foods (ABF) - is to create 500 new jobs with the opening of three new Spanish stores in Leganes, Cordoba and Alicante. This move will bring its retail network in Spain up to 25 units. Spain is seen as one of the priority markets for the firm's European
growth strategy.
The first store to be opened is that in Alicante with 187 new jobs; the opening of the other two Primark stores in Castellon and Elche will follow. Primark operates 232 stores across Europe, employing 42,000 people.
Primark currently has 235 stores across Europe.
UPDATE, 15/03/2012 - The store in Alcante was opened on 15 March.
