Description

Spanish frozen seafood brand Elmar has made 130 workers redundant. Initially, 110 workers had opted for a voluntary redundancy programme, with compensation of 45 days' pay per year worked. Another 29 employees had chosen to continue working and 35 workers had not voted.

It is reported that the job cuts were implemented in March 2012. According to media reports, the company is now on the way of economic recovery and plans on hiring temporary agency workers to replace some of the redundancies made.
