Description

Mazda, a Japanese car manufacturer, announced the intention to shed 106 out of 306 positions at Mazda's European headquarters in Leverkusen (Rhineland) by mid-2012. The company has been affected by a decrease in orders over the past four years and has additionally been hit by the Fukushima disaster. Negotiations with the works council have already taken place.

In February, the staff was informed that a 'leaner' structure will be implemented. Sales staff will not be affected.
