Description

St. Jude Medical, an American manufacturer of pacemakers, has announced to make 150 employees redundant. This is due to the closure of its R&D department in Järfälla in Stockholm during the first quarter of 2012.

St Jude Medical had previously given notices to 500 employees, when the factory decided to relocate their business to Malaysia in May 2011 (see here). The Research and Development department was said to remain in Järfälla. Now they will close the unit completely.

The factory in Järfälla has produced pacemakers since 1958 for a number of different owners.
