Description
Rotherham Council has announced plans to cut 200 jobs within the next year in a bid to save £20.4m. The Council aims at implementing the cuts through voluntary redundancies. Additionally, salary increases will be frozen.
It is reported that the council has already cut 1,000 positions in the last two years. According to the council chief executive council spending was £8,000 per person before the governments' Comprehensive Spending Review in 2010 and has gone down to £800 per person.
