Description

Bulgarian state postal operator Bulgarian Post aims to cut 850 to 1,000 jobs until the end of the year. The management signed an agreement with trade unions on the 10th of January and the redundancy programme will run in January and February. Some sources indicate that take-up could be as low as 400 jobs cut only.

The redundancy programme relies on voluntary departures and will make workers in retirement age redundant, as well as people willing to leave the company or work part-time. Redundant employees will receive compensation payments amounting to 2 to 10 salaries according to time working for the company.

Bulgarian post employs currently 12,000 people.
