Description
Heidelberg will reduce its headcount with 2,000 employees. Around 1,200 of the jobs will be cut in Germany, notably in production, development, administration, sales, and marketing. 800 jobs will be lost elsewhere in the group's global operations. Heidelberg did not detail in which of its plants the jobs will be lost.
The job reduction scheme is part of the new ‘Focus 2112' efficiency program of Heidelberg. The plan will reduce capacity and includes cost cutting measures. In previous years, Heidelberg has already cut thousands of jobs following the shrinking market for newspaper and magazine publishing.
