Description
Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC), the Czech state railway administration, is to cut 500 jobs in the frame of a restructuring plan announced for the period January to April 2012. The workforce reduction will affect especially employees in the administration.
The job cuts are part of a cost saving programme approved by the government. The company had previously announced cuts up to 1950 jobs for 2010 and 2011 (see here).
Currently, the company employs roughly 18,000 people across the Czech Republic.
