European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
As announced on December 15th, 2011, online retailer Amazon will create approximately 2,000 jobs in Germany by opening two logistic centres. One of them is to be built in Koblenz, Rhineland-Palatinate, the other one in Pforzheim, Baden-Württemberg. Additionally, they plan to employ up to 2,000 seasonal workers for high season.
The recruitment for the jobs is said to begin in January 2012, it is reported. The new logistic centres will be operational in the third quarter of 2012 and Amazon states that it expects to create the full 2000 new jobs within the next three years.
Amazon employs around 34,000 (in 2010) worldwide.
