Description
Sanofi Aventis, one of the main pharmaceutical companies in the world, is to cut 500 jobs in Italy (out of 3,400). The job-cuts include the closure of the research centre located at Milan which employs around 50 workers.
Trade unions criticized the company's decision, announcing various protest actions.
