Description
Multinational insurance company Aviva head-quartered in London has announced plans to close down its Bristol site moving operations to York, Sheffield, and Norwich. The move will result in 380 job losses. In a statement Aviva said it would be retaining about 60 specialist underwriting and claims assessment roles in Bristol. The firm added that it wanted to give employees as much support as possible and that it was considering the option of redeployment.
The job cuts are part of Aviva's larger restructuring plan for the UK and Ireland affecting up to 1500 jobs (see here).
