Description
On 19 November 2011, the national postal operator Poczta Polska announced a restructuring plan for 2012, affecting 700 jobs. From the first of January 2012, the company will implement a voluntary departure programme.
The redundancies are part of a broader restructuring programme including the closure of 45 of 62 units across Poland and changes of the organizational structure. Jerzy Jóźwik, president of the company, said the restructuring programme was necessary because of the bad financial condition of the company (in 2010 economical results of the company were close to zero). Apart from the improvement of the economical results, the company plans to enter to the stock exchange in the future.
UPDATE:On 30 January 2012, Poczta Polska announced that a restructuring plan will affect 2,300 jobs. In January 2012, the company started a voluntary dismissal progamme, which is directed mainly at people who can choose early retirement and to employees from the units to be closed.
