Description
The Chinese-owned telecommunication equipment manufacturer Huawei Technologies Hungary and the electronics manufacturer Flextronics will establish a joint plant in the Hungarian city of Pécs, Huawei Technologies Hungary managing director Gavin Dai said at a press conference on Monday. The production at the plant, which will produce optical network equipment, will start in December 2011. About 500 people are expected to work at the plant by mid-2012.
More than 12,000 people work at four Flextronics bases in Hungary: in Zalaegerszeg, Sárvár, Tab and Budapest.
UPDATE, 09/12/2011 - According to latest press reports, the electronics manufacturer Flextronics plans to increase the number of its employees to some 100 at its production unit located in Pecs by the end of 2011 and employ another 800 people by the end of 2012.
