The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Ferry company Scandlines announced it will dismiss between 100 and 150 seamen and canteen personell at its two new ferry lines between Gedser (Denmark) and Rostock (Germany).
The reason is that one of the ferries 'Berlin' will be crewed with German staff, while the other 'Copenhagen' will be crewed with Danish staff. So far both existing ferries had been staffed with Danish staff. Some of the redundant employees will be moved to other lines. However, 50 employees will be replaced because of the reflagging and other 50 will be made redundantdue to the new more automatic ferries.
