UK-owned discount retailer Poundland has announced that it is entering the Irish marketplace under the Dealz name. Poundland intends to open six new shops in the Republic of Ireland by March 2012. It is envisaged that the move will provide 180 jobs. The retailer has earmarked various locations, especially in Dublin, as well as Cork. The first four stores are due to open in October 2011.
