European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Puukeskus, a Finnish wholesaler of construction materials, has announced redundancies of up to 130 employees. The company has initiated negotiations with employee representatives on the proposed cuts.
Puukeskus has approximately 600 employees in 23 locations Finland, all of which are subject to the negotiations. The company cites deteriorated market situation and poor outlook as reasons for its decision. In addition, Puukeskus has units in Estonia and Russia, but these are not involved in this restructuring.
