Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The pharmaceutical company Famar (3,560 employees) is to announce a social plan that will cut 170 positions out of a total of 320 positions at its plant at Orléans. The plant will be closed and all activities will be relocated to other plants near Orléans.
In September, employees decided to strike to obtain a financial compensation up to 5,000 Euros for their efforts throughout the past years and other compensation.
A timeline for the restructuring is yet to be announced.
