Description

Regional news portal BorsodOnline reported that last Wednesday all 200 workers of state-owned Hollóházi Porcelán Manufaktúra were laid off. Hollóházi became insolvent in spring. The Hungarian National Asset Management Company (MNV) has decided to wind up the company without establishing a legal successor.

State-owned Hollóházi Hungarikum will be taking over 66 staff from porcelain maker Hollóházi Porcelán Manufaktúra, which is under liquidation, managing director József Pálfi said on Wednesday.

Hollóházi Hungarikum Nonprofit, which was established to preserve the long-standing tradition of porcelain making in Hollóháza, started operating on September 1 with a total of 90 staff, Pálfi said.
