Description
On 6 July 2011, the management of the regional Hospital in Białystok (Wojewódzki Szpital Białostocki) announced plans to cut 188 jobs. The job cuts are attributed to the critical financial situation of the hospital, which has 102 million PLN debts (over 25,5 million EUR).
The authorities of the hospital signed the bilateral agreement with the local trade unions; as a result of the negotiations the redundancies will take place in two stages. The first stage will concern people who will enter a voluntary redundancy scheme. After that, the management of hospital will implement a collective dismissal pogramme.
