Description

On 31 July 2011, Polish electricity producer and distributor PGE Dystrybucja unveiled details of the implementation of a voluntary redundancy programme introduced in July 2011. Nearly 300 workers have applied to voluntary redundancy. The affected workers will receive a severance pay equal to 30 months' wages (it may amount to more than 100,000 PLN/ 25,000 EUR per person).

The programme is a part of a large restructuring within the whole PGE group - PGE Obrót, another company within the group, has introduced the voluntary redundancy programme around the same time. There are, however, no details of the ongoing restructuring.

PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna is one of the largest electricity producer and supplier in Poland. It employs 45,000 people across the country.
