Polish discount supermarket chain Biedronka, owned by the Portuguese Jeronimo Martins, is to create 150 jobs with the opening of a new accounting and administrative service centre in the city of Poznań. The centre will provide accounting and other back office services for the Biedronka chain store.
Jeromino Martins has been operating in Poland since 1995. The company has 1658 stores in 700 Polish cities and 9 distribution centres across the country and employs overall 30,000 people. The company plans to create even 4,000 jobs in 2011 and develop the chain store across Poland.
