Description
Royal Mail has announced plans to cut more than 500 jobs in the Midlands as a result of a sharp fall in the number of items posted each year. The plans are subject to a consultation period which will finish by the autumn. Derby would lose 182 posts, Leicester 280 and Worcester 97. The company hopes that the reduction in posts will be achieved through voluntary redundancies, redeployment and natural wastage.
