Description

Swedish furniture retailer IKEA will outsource its information technology (IT) operations by awarding contracts to Capgemini, HCL and IBM. 400 employees worldwide and 210 employees in Sweden (150 in Helsingborg and 60 in Älmhult) will be transferred to the suppliers by 2012. IKEA decided to outsource in order to have a more flexible IT workforce. Due to the contract with IKEA, both Capgemini and IBM will open offices in Helsingborg and Älmhult. As of July 2011, there is no further information on how many jobs each  supplier will create as a result of the outsourcing announced by IKEA.
