Description
Łódź Local Goverment announced plans to dismiss 185 teachers.
The cuts will affect 128 teachers on permanent contracts and 57 teachers on temporary contracts. According to "Gazeta Prawna" the job reduction in 2011 could cover even 30% of the schools workforce across Poland. Dismissals are due to the "baby bust" phenomenon (during last 20 years the population of pupils in Poland has reduced by 2 million people) and public expenditure cuts for education.
