Description
Bydgoszcz Local Goverment announced plans to reduce the employment in the local schools by 422 jobs. The cuts include 47 direct dismissals while 375 teachers on temporary contracts will not have their contracts renewed. According to "Gazeta Prawna" the job reduction in 2011 could affect even 30% of the schools workforce across Poland. Dismissals are due to the "baby bust" phenomenon (during last 20 years the population of pupils in Poland went down by 2 million people) and public expenditure cuts for education.
