Description
The Commercial court of Troyes has announced the takeover of the Société industrielle de reliure et de cartonnage (SIRC) by a new owner who will dismiss 133 employees. The company is specialised in industrial bookbinding.
The new owner will only keep 84 of the current employees. The employees preferred a transformation of SIRC into a cooperative (SCOP), which would have maintained 120 jobs. Employees are questioning the viability of the company given the reduced staff levels.
Former Kodak CEO Florence Maurice is managing SIRC as the head of the new owner company.
