European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The clinical research company Quintiles gave notice to 110 employees in Uppsala. The dismissal is due to the fact that the market for clinical drug has declined in recent years and demand for clinical trials has been greatly reduced.
Quintiles Sweden combines clinical specialist facilities and scientific expertise to provide complete pharmaceutical development services. The company has been operating in Sweden since 1995 and currently has 200 employees. It is a subsidiary of the US American pharmaceutical services company Quintiles Transnational.
Quintiles Transnational is the only fully integrated bio and pharmaceutical services provider offering clinical, commercial, consulting and capital solutions. The company employs around 22,000 employees in 60 countries.
