Description
South Korean electronics manufacturer Samsung Electronics is to open a new call centre in Latvia where more than 100 people will be employed. The new call centre will provide services for Baltic and Scandinavian countries.
Samsung Electronics Baltics President Sangho Jo has explained that the factors underlying the choice of the location include lower labour costs in Latvia, the highly developed Internet infrastructure, and the good language skills of the Latvian workforce (i.e. Nordic languages, German, Russian, English). From the perspective of the company fluency in Russian is particularly important as Russia is a large market.
