European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Jitona, a Czech furniture manufacturer, is to close its Soběslav plant with the loss of 124 jobs out of 220 by the end of May 2011. The job loss is attributed to the relocation of production to two other plants (Klatovy, Třebíč). The closure of the plant is also due to unfavourable market situation, a strong exchange rate and rising costs of materials.
