European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Huis Clos, a French manufacturer of PVC joinery and heating systems, has announced its intention to recruit 400 employees on permanent contract in 2011. The company has concluded an agreement with the employment public service Pôle Emploi to circulate this announcement widely. Although the jobs are for skilled workers, the company is ready to hire unskilled workers and train them to develop the required skills.
The company's policy is to recruit employees without specialised expertise and provide them with training to develop the skills required for the job. Since the company entered the renewable energy market in 2006, it has established a training programme with AFPA (an accredited training provider) to hire new employees and train them in refrigeration and air conditioning installation and services, after failing to find workers with relevant skills. The company also used this process to recruit workers with a view to entering the market of gas condensing boilers.
Huis Clos has 160 agencies in France and it is engaged primarily in the manufacture and marketing of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) joinery as well as heating systems and renewable energy solutions.
