The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Darty, a retailer of electrical appliances, is to apply for a redundancy procedure (Expediente de Regulación de Empleo, ERE) affecting 117 employees. The company will close 5 shops located in Madrid, Talavera de la Reina (Toledo), Zaragoza, and Alcoy (Alicante). The reason behind this internal restructuring is the decline in turnover during the last three years.
Update 15-06-2011: Darty and the unions have reached a final agreement for an implementation of an ERE (Expediente de Regulación de Empleo) affecting 71 employees.
