Description
Mayo County Council have announced 152 redundancies in the coming year. The local authority is seeking to make savings of €6m in staffing costs. The Council currently employs around 1,000 people. The County says the numbers will be reduced through retirements and redundancies under the terms of the Croke Park Agreement, as well as redeployment. Negotiations were due to occur with the SIPTU and IMPACT trade unions. The Council is seeking to cut costs in a number of areas.
