European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Bread producer Bimbo has announced a redundancy procedure which will result in the loss of 600 sales and customer service jobs across 52 sites in Spain. According to latest media reports, the majority of the dismissed workers will have the option of continuing working for the company as self-employed. The negotiations with the unions relating the redundancy procedure are ongoing. As April 2011, there is no information on when the job cuts will be implemented by.
