Description
On 29 March, Nestlé Grand Froid announced it would cut 171 jobs in its frozen prepared food activities under the umbrella of the brand Maggi. Nestlé Grand Froid is a subsidiary of the Swiss group Nestlé (16000 employees in France). The restructuring will affect 134 jobs in the plant in Beauvais (of 300 employees working in this site), 20 jobs at headquarters and 17 sales jobs. The management indicated that the downsizing would be carried out via voluntary departure. The brand Maggi is facing declining sales due to competition from the likes of Findus (an old subsidiary sold by Nestlé in 2000 to an investment fund).
