Description
On 23 March, Ericsson announced the adjustment of its operations in Sweden which will result in 450 job cuts. 400 jobs will be cut in Stockholm and another 50 in Gothenburg within sales and administration. Negotiations with trade unions have already started.
At the same time, the company has started to recruit some 250 engineers within research and development (R&D) due to an increased demand of 4G-technology. According to the company, the cuts were necessary to reduce costs and increase efficiencey.
Ericsson has some 17,848 employees in Sweden and 90,000 worldwide.
