European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The US fastfood giant McDonald's plans to create 500 new jobs in Austria by the end of 2011. This was announced by McDonald's Austria CEO Andreas Schwerla. The company, which currently operates 174 restaurants in the country, will open between eight and ten new ones by the end of the year. The company, which dominates the systems catering market with a share of 75% in Austria, could improve its turnover by 8.7% and its number of customers by 9.4% last year as compared to 2009. Performance-wise, Austria is among the top five preforming countries worldwide where McDonald's is operating.
