Description
On 9 February 2011, Stocznia Marynarki Wojennej, a shipyard in Gdynia, announced the dismissal of 400 employees. The main reason behind the workforce reduction is the critical financial situation of the shipyard. The redundancies are expected to start in April 2011 and will mainly affect administrative staff across all departments. The shipyard employs 1068 people. In December 2009 the District Court in Gdańsk announced the bankruptcy of the shipyard (see factsheet id 14576).
