The Swedish telecommunications company TeliaSonera announced on 3 February 2011 that it intended to make 800 job cuts in Sweden and Finland as part of a major restructuring operation. It expects to make 640 redundancies in Sweden and 165 in Finland. At the same time, some 200 new jobs are expected to be created in other business areas. The jobs cuts will affect staff in the company's fixed broadband division.
