Description

Amcor, a leading Australian company operating in the packaging sector, is to close its plant located at Lainate, in the province of Milan, with the loss of 138 jobs. The collective dismissals procedures should start in April 2011. According to the company, the production will be delocalised to other plants located in the Czech Republic, Spain and Turkey. The delocalization process is due to the rise of prices of raw materials. In the next days the trade unions will meet the local authorities in order to avoid the closure of the plant.
