Description

On 3 February 2011 Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, an automotive components and wiring harnesses manufacturer, announced it will dismiss 950 production workers in its factory in Leszno. The cuts will be conducted by the end of June 2011. The company plans to keep only the technical department where 50 people are employed. The company's spokesman claimed that declining orders and crisis in the automotive market were the main reasons behind the job losses. For the same reason the company closed its factory in Rawicz in 2009, when about 1,200 workers lost their job.
