Description
Portuguese gaming operator Estoril Sol announced plans to dismiss 113 workers at its Estoril Casino on the outskirts of Lisbon, blaming the effects of the economic downturn in the gaming sector. The Casino said 'it had exhausted all possibilities to reduce costs through economies of scale' and the redundancies would cost about 6 million euros. The unions opposed the decision with a series of strikes.
