Description

On 7 January 2011, Qisda Czech (formerly known as BenQ Technologies Czech), a Taiwanese LCD monitor producer, has announced about 200 job cuts by the end of June 2011, due to the termination of its production in Brno site. The company has decided to move the production to China. Qisda has been operating in Brno since mid-2005 and has become one of the largest employers in the region. In 2008, before the global crisis, the firm employed nearly 800 people and planned to hire around 1,000 new workers in the course of 2009.
