Description

On 28 December 2010 the Council of Ministers adopted a change in the multiannual program for Bridgestone, which builds a factory in Stargard Szczeci?ski. The program has covered a financial support for the investment in the years 2006-2010. The Japanese tire manufacturer committed to complete the investment by the end of 2010. According to the new agreements the capital expenditure will be not reduced and the company will invest minimum 200 million Euros, but the company will create only 600 jobs (159 jobs less than it was planned earlier). About 194 jobs will be created for people with higher education. The factory in Stargard Szczeci?ski has been operating since May 2009 and it employs 484 workers. Bridgestone has 4 factories in Poland (in Pozna?, Wolsztyn, ?arów, Stargard) and employs 2,000 people.

The case of Bridgestone Stargard was presented as a factsheet 11101 in August 2008, http://eurofound.europa.eu/node/63856
