Description
Avilon, a new Finnish manufacturer of viscose fibers, re-opens an old factory in Valkeakoski with about 200 workers.
Avilon bought a factory that was closed by another company two years ago. The city of Valkeakoski has a long history with pulp and paper industry. Avilon will produce non-flammable viscose fibers, which can be used in mattresses, for example. Initially, most of the production is expected to be exported to the U.S.A. as the product complies with the U.S. fire safety regulations.
