Description

On 6 October 2010, the remaining 13 companies of the Thieme printing group (second largest in the Netherlands) were declared bankrupt and 684 employees lost their jobs. One week earlier, six companies had already been declared bankrupt. For several weeks, the effects for employment in the group remained unclear. In November, it became clear that 11 plants could be sold to new owners, saving 264 of the original 950 jobs.

As reported, the Netherlands applied for assistance from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF)
